I would like to share a story about my very special friends Hella and Armin.
I would like to share a story about my very special friends Hella and Armin.
We met several times and in several situations.
Rescuing their very best friend Ayla in Limni, inspired me so much I wanted to learn more about their profession.
I got a quick intro in to the future and the last emergency rescue seminar before they’re headed around the world.
Exposed to all sorts of unexpected scenarios- situations on the road always pushes me to participate in all sorts of seminars.
Exactly, I am going to Kassel to participate in emergency rescue seminar. I really feel I need to be a part of this story. I am in. Where do I sign? November 10-17, 2018 it is.
From Morocco to Germany. What a challenge!
From Sahara desert home of tuareg people to Kassel home of the great brothers Grimm. As If I would enter from one fairytail to another.
Welcome back to civilisation!
As always I was working with my Canon EOS Mk4, but this time I also got an opportunity to test and work with Nikon D850 and a couple of Nikkor lenses. Call me lucky!
It felt like using same cameras, except all the functions were on opposite sides, suits my surname, doesn’t it?
wait!
In a day or two I could handle both cameras simultaneously and with no extra sweat. As a matter a fact it was quite convenient to rely on Nikon D850 as a second body. How wonderful!
8 days and 80 hours of comprehensive training from the Hessen Medical Association to be able to work as an independent physician in the rescue emergency medicine course has been held on the premises of the Elisabeth Hospital in Kassel.
With all respect for the performance of the other team members in order to achieve the best possible result in the field and thus for the patient,
participants were not only doctors but also rescue service personnel and nurses from functional areas.
While the participants were listening to the theoretical part, organizers were working behind the stage, preparing all sorts of unexpected rescue scenarios.
We had a make up artist as well, so the scenarios looked more believable.
In the last few days a regional volunteer fire department from Calden prepared a traffic accident scenario involving four casualties.
All the participants were rescuing and being rescued so they could taste responsibility independently.
Style of delivery enhanced learning and understanding also the participants questions reinforced new informations as well.
There was no end of daily surprises. All sorts of scenarios were held all around the place.
Yes indeed, I had quite a challenging week.
I was delighted to test and work with Nikon D850 in a parallel with my Canon EOS Mk4. I found Nikon D850 as a very fast, detailed and silent camera.
Theoretical part was quite hard on me, nevertheless It was a specific medical topic held in German language.
I had no extra worries, I was fully occupied also the majority spoke English very well and was always happy to help.
As my friend anesthesiologist, intensive care and emergency physician Armin Jost usually summarizes at the end of the course with a wink, “You do not know all the answers but at least the majority of the questions”.
I came with certain expectations and I can definitely say that this course went beyond my expectations, especially when the crime department and firefighters got involved. I was astonished by all the hard work and effort involved in to a week long project.
I really enjoyed the course, the educational content was excellent. I found it very practical and clinically relevant, recommended to all.
…and If I would like to participate on the next seminar?
Though this was the last seminar orgenised by Mr. Armin Jost, the emergency rescue seminar will continue under a new managment, acording to Mr.Jost’s plans.
Armin and Hella have been building their mobile home since 2006 and are finally ready to go on the tour of their lives, around the globe.
This time with a new company Ziva who assists on emergency rescuing.
My happy feet have decided to travel to Mongolia again only this time with a company. (watch out, paramedics on their way)
Not to worry, I will keep them safe. I did attend the emergency rescue course, remember?!
