Exploring winter Vienna known for its marvels Christmas markets sounds like a splendid idea.
Special interest in wool and knitting got us to a small Yarn shop on Josefstadt, Vienna.
Very nice saleswoman helped us with all the information about the wool.
All the textures, colors, patterns in this worm boutique store convinced me to change my lens. I was between wide angle and macro lens. (Canon 24mm, F/1.4 and Canon 100mm, F2.8)
I got an eye for a specific yarn. Earthy and simple colors, yet vivid and just the ones I could see my self rapped in to.
I got an offer. If I buy the yarn I might get lucky and find a knitter as well.
While I was researching the knitting world with my camera, my girls were already designing something special…
I found out my lady is knitting since she was five, taught all sorts of techniks by her beloved auntie. Keeps on surprising me.
I was deeply convinced in her skills. I bought the yarn.
Majestic city of Vienna, the birthplace of waltz, leading city of music and art really has a charm of its own.
The weather was changing constantly, would not recall it as my favorite but the atmosphere was just fabulous.
We were just discussing and gathering informations about Krampus, when unexpectedly while leaving the store I felt something hit my bum. OMG Krampus were everywhere. What just happened?
Street was suddenly overflowed with smoke and heavy Rammstein rhythms.
Krampus were very amusing. I can’t say that at some moments they didn’t scare me, still I was laughing almost crying while experiencing the event, my adrenaline was on highest level most of the time. It was a small, local and beautifully performed Krampus show.
Vienna took my breath away. What a spectacular, majestic city. Christmas markets are very appealing and you can find almost everything there.
From all sorts of local craft and art to Austrian famous glück wine (glühwein) and bratwurst.
Breathtaking architecture sometimes makes you feel like you found the ‘the centre of the world’.
What happened to my yarn you ask?
Yesterday a postman brought me a package.
Reno, Nevada! No way, really???
She did it. My lady was knitting.
Yarn that was bought in Vienna and traveled to Reno, just came back to Slovenia as a finished product. Beautiful!
I love it, simply love it!!!
